Deena Williamson serves as the general counsel and senior vice president of legal affairs for Williams Lea, Inc., providing legal documentation management for this international outsourcing company. After working for the company for six years, Deena Williamson became a finalist for the Washington Metropolitan American Corporate Counsel Association’s In-House Counsel of the Year Award in 2013.
Experienced in corporate law and business outsourcing, her responsibilities for Williams Lea include managing legal affairs and providing daily support to various company teams; these include the CEO, sales, board of directors, human resources, and information technology. In addition, she handles the negotiations for international, multi-million dollar outsourcing agreements with Fortune 100 companies regarding employee transfers, technology licensing and developing, and operational support. Since joining the company, Ms. Williamson succeeded in significantly reducing its legal spend.
Prior to joining Williams Lea, she accepted a position at Savvis, Inc., in Herndon, Virginia, as a deputy general counsel and vice president. The company promoted her to acting general one year after she joined. In addition, the company selected her to attend the President’s Club for outstanding legal support. Earlier in her career, she served as an attorney for Summers & Jones, P.C., and MCI Telecommunications Corp.
Deena Williamson is a member of several professional organizations, including the D.C. Bar and the University of Georgia Law School Alumni Association.
